Lebron James First Game

Only a few hopefull basketball players are lucky to enter the National Basketball Association and among these few hopefulls, few are given the chance to play big time.

One must be the best of the best to be able to be the number one pick in the NBA drafts. So, Lebron James must be the best in his batch for him to be the number one pick in the 2003 NBA drafts.

A Brief Background

Lebron Raymone “King James” James is an American professional basketball player in the NBA. James started to excel in basketball when he was just in first year highschool. He attended St. Vincent –St. Mary High School in Akron, where he became one of the starting 5 during his freshmen year for the Fighting Irish. As the years in high school passed, he got greater and greater , and so does his stats.

Debut Game

Lebron was hailed the number one pick in the 2003 NBA Drafts, and he was just 18 years old then. The Cleveland Cavaliers signed him and so did Nike. Nike already signed a shoe contract with James even before his professional debut game, which shows how the Nike Company trusts and believes in Lebron James.

Lebron James’ first game in the NBA happened on the 29th day of October, 2003 at Sacramento, facing the Sacramento Kings. When he was introduced, the 17,317 people in the stadium—including Lebron James’ mother, Gloria James, and a few family friends from Akron, along with Chicago Cubs manager Dusty Baker and former basketball stars Reggie Jackson and Joe Morgan—had different reactions. Some cheered as the “King James” entered the court, while others booed their hearts out. Yet, Lebron James didn’t mind.

better shooting

The first few minutes of the first quarter of Lebron James’ first game was excellent.

He got nervous and tired, however after calling a time out, he settled down and went back out and got his energy flowing.

The game at Sacramento does not only debut THE Lebron James, but it was also the debut of his first signature sneakers Nike Air Generation.

Lebron James’ first game in the NBA was a huge success, though they were defeated by the Sacramento Kings. The team may have lost the game, but the team gained a superstar.

The game definitely exceeded all expectations, he proved the harsh critics wrong, and he showed the people what he can do.

At the end of the game, of about 40 minutes of playing, Lebron James’ first game stats were huge; he had 25 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and four steals on 12-20 shooting that he’d put up, and he just had two turn overs. Now tell me, how great was that? It was the most points ever made by a prep-to-pro player in his debut game.

James immediately became the Cav’s superstar, averaging 20.9 points, 5,5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in neary 40 minutes a night. That same season, he was eventually hailed the NBA Rookie of the year.
