Famous Basketball Players In South Korea

Do you love Koreans in the show business? Those Koreans who certainly take the novel scene like a whirlwind is really awesome is it not?

Well, if you cannot get enough of the Korean spirit, here is one big thing for you. If you are addicted to Korean stuffs and at the same time a basketball lover, you must first know these Famous Koreans who are shining in the world of Basketball.

South Korea could be very much proud for having these Korean Basketball players. They could also be considered as golden possessions for they give pride to the Korean people and country as a whole. Nobody could ever imagine how South Korea got a load of these Famous Basketball Players who in return are not only famous but also equally expert in the sport.

Hur Jae

First one is Hur Jae. He was born on the 28th of September, 1965 in the humble place of Chuncheo in South Korea. He is a former South Korean Professional basketball player who was appointed to play for the country during the 80s and 2000s. His professional basketball career started in the year 1988 as he was offered by Kia Motors to play for their team.

With his fascinating skills and knowledge in the Basketball game, he led the team for 5 consecutive years as champions in the year 1988 to 1993 and another 2 years more in the year 1995 to 1996. During those triumphant years, he was awarded for 3 times with one of the most prestigious award, the Most Valuable Player or MVP. After the Professional league was founded, he was regarded once again as the MVP for the 1997 to 1998 seasons.

Jae also has experienced being appointed to join the Summer Olympics which was held in Seoul, Korea by the year 1988. The team finished at 9th rank. Come 1990, Jae managed to set the record for having the highest points of 60 in a FIBA World Championship Match with Egypt with an end score of 117-115, a record which was not yet beaten by any other Korean Basketball players.

Hur Jae secured hi retirement on the month of April year 2004. Because of his remarkable contribution to his TG Xers team, the head of the team had announced that his jersey number 9 which will forever belong to him, as in no one in the team could ever have this number again, even rookies. He is now head coaching the team of Jeonju KCC Egis and the Korean National Basketball Team.

Kim Joo-Sung

Another famous Basketball player for Korea is Kim Joo-Sung. He was born on the 9th of November, 1979 in Haeundaegu Busan in South Korea. He plays well as forward center. His current playing team is the Wonju Dongbu Promy wearing the jersey number 5. His height is 6 feet and 9 inches.

After attending his college in the University of Chung-Ang from 1998 to 2001, he then joined the team of Wonju TG Xers where he was known as one of the best rookies in his batch. He has a high average of 17.04 points, 2.24 assists, 8.72 rebounds and 2.07 shoot blocks in just one season.

As an addition to that , he have led the team to reach the winning goal in the KBL championship in the 2002 to 2003 seasons but sadly, they just landed on the second spot. On that season, Kim was able to create another high average of 18.8ponts, 2.43 shoot blocks and amazing 8.85 rebounds. He won the MVP award in the 2004-2005 seasons.

In 2007 to 2008 season, the team he was playing for have won in the championship whereas they defeated the team of Seoul Samsun Thunders, he also won MVP title, this was the second time.
