South Korea - Famous Basketball Players

Here is the second blast of information of some of the South Korea’s Famous Basketball players, enjoy!

Ha Seung-Jin

Ha Seung-Jin is a good Korean Professional Basketball Player. His date of birth was on 4th of November year 1985. He is a pure Korean Citizen. Ha Seung-Jin has already played for the NBA Development League and of course in the NBA he was at the second round pick in the draft which is 46th over all of the team Portland Trailblazers during the 2004 NBA drafts. He is currently playing for team KCC Jeonju of South Korea which is the 2009 KBL Champions.

He is one of the tallest Korean Basketball players in the NBA with his height of 7 feet and 3 inches and weighs 305 pounds. As an additional information, he holds the record as the first ever Korean to Play in the NBA.

Before Ha Seung-Jin entered the NBA scene he first played for the Samil Commercial School and Yonsei University in South Korea. He moved to USA in the year 2004 to get ready for the upcoming NBA Draft. Ha Seung-Jin had joined the Blazers to play for the rest of the 2004 to 2005 season but he hardly ever played in the games of Portland.

However on the 20th of April, 2005 when he was given the chance to play, he scored 13 points. He was assigned to join the NBA D league’s Fort Worth Flyers on 28th of March in the year 2006 where he played for a total of five games but sad to say, he did not made an impact to the scouts and audiences.

He has also got another chance to prove his worth when accidentally the 2 members of the Portland Joel Przybilla and Theo Ratcliff were not able to play because of the acquired injury. Ha Seung-Jin started playing four games which gave him an average score of 11 minutes time of playing.

On the 31st of July, 2006 Ha Seung-Jin was dealt to the team of Milwaukee Bucks. Meanwhile, on the 28th of October, 2006 before the launching of the ‘06-‘07 NBA season, he was relinquished by the Milwaukee Bucks but later on obtained by the D League Team of the NBA , Anaheim Arsenals on the 31st of December, 2006.

Choi Jin-Soo

He was born on the 11th of May, 1989. He played for the College Park, University of Mary Land and lastly for the Korean National Basketball Team. He was note for being the 1st Korean to eve play in the NCAA basketball.

He plays as a small forward in the United States but he was playing for the Korean National Basketball Team, he plays as a power forward. As a small forward, he could also be an effective shooting guard, center and of course power forward.

He decided to change his name from Choi Jin-Soo to Kim Jin-Soo to honour his father’s name Uyootak Kim, who was also a pro basketball player during his time. Since he started his professional basketball career at a very early age just last 2009, Choi Jin-Soo has still small information for his professional record.
