Dallas Mavericks Playoffs

Dallas Mavericks was definitely a highly ranked and one of the most loved team in the NBA league. Whenever they have a game the arena for sure is a almost full.

It is not an argument that they are being watched by many because the team was able to prove to everyone their worth. Here is one of their playoffs and they definitely gave a good fight.

In the final game of the regular season, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 96-89, sealing both teams' fate in the 2010 NBA Playoffs. Although it could be considered a precursor to the upcoming series, the Spurs almost beat the Mavericks despite keeping stars Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobli out of the game.

Giving a preview of the Dallas Mavericks playoffs, the Mavericks have had a very up-and-down second half to the 2010 NBA season. After a mid-season trade to acquire Brendan Haywood and Caron Butler, the Mavericks ran off a thirteen-game winning streak. After this run, the Mavericks are 10-6, including blowout losses to the New York Knicks and New Orleans Hornets. The addition of Haywood and Butler certainly invigorated a Mavericks team that was struggling to string together wins.

Still, it's Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd who have to play well for Dallas to have a chance of making it deep into the playoffs. An off-night from Haywood will not have as big of an impact on the Mavs as an off-night from Nowitzki.

Nowitzki will also have his hands full facing off against Duncan and the Spurs in the first round. Dallas Mavericks playoffs, as you no doubt know if you’ve come all the way to this corner of the internet looking for Mavericks news, are going to be playing the Spurs. Starting Saturday.

So I thought I’d take a moment and break down some of the things we can expect to see. Although the Spurs are the most decorated team of the last seven years and the Mavs are that timespan’s most obvious bridesmaid, the Mavs and Spurs have always played each other close.

They last met in the Western Conference semifinals in 2005-2006, singlehandedly changing the playoff seeding system—memorably it was the North Texans who came out on top in a seven game overtime classic, with Manu Ginobili committing a foul on Dirk with a few seconds left that he probably still wakes up screaming about.

The Dallas Mavericks playoffs game three was an absolute waxing, with the Mavs going down 93-76 (against a team playing neither Duncan nor Ginobili), but then again, whenever the Mavs have lost this season it’s seemed to be by double digits. In matter of fact, since the beginning of November they’ve had a total of seven losses decided by less than nine points.

In that time span they’ve had 8 losses by twenty or more points. Go figure. Getting killed is just a loss, at the AAC the game four went to the Mavs. 2-2 on the season.
