Finnish are great examples of players with winning skills and determination. As Finland arises among any countries, their basketball players are too, doing their best just to make their country conquer that championship medal they ever wanted.

Let us start with, Petteri Koponen. He was born on the 13h of April, 1988 in Helsinki, Finland. He is a pure blooded Finnish. He is a professional basketball player who plays for the team of Virtus Bologna as a point guard.

He weighs about 195 lbs and his height is 6 feet and 4.5 inches. His previous team is the Tapiolan Honka, a team for the Korisliiga Basketball League in the Country. He has also become a NBA player as he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers during the NBA Draft in the year 2007. He was the 30th pick of the team. He is being managed by the team of Portland Trail Blazer.

He first started as a basketball player of the club Malmi Super-Koris is also known as the Malmi Super Basketball. In here he joined one of the top basketball clubs in Finland which is the Espoo Honka in the years 2004 and 2005. He was guided then by one of the top awarded coach Mihailo Pavicevic who stood up as his manager and trainer as well.

He was then developed by his trainer as a key player in the team Espoo Honka in the 2006 to 2007 seasons of the Finnish Championship whereas their team was in the winning side.

His career as professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association or the NBA started when he was chosen as one of the best players of the Nike Hoop Summit in the year 2007. He was one of the players in the All-Star Team. Koponen was recorded to have 7 points and a total of 6 assists and only a single turnover. Koponen was then picked by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2007 NBA drafts.

You also have, Uolevi Manninen. Manninen was born on the 7th of April, 1937 and died on the 10th of November, 2009. He was a legend for the Finland’s basketball History. He was one of the Players of the representative of Finland in the Finnish Olympics. Manninen was included as one of the Finland’s most successful basketball teams.

The teams have also participated in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and have ended as the 11th placer of the tournament. He was also one of the basketball players when Finland National Basketball Team has landed on the 6h place during the 1967 European Championships.

His humble height of 6 feet an 7.5 inches made him an effective basketball player who have also competed in many tournaments including the EM-Cup, whereas they won four times and 3 gold medals.
