Velimir Perasović
Basketball Career
Velimir Perasović was born on February 9, 1965 in Split, Croatia. He is a basketball coach and is a former basketball player in Croatia. He started playing basketball when he was just 14 years old and was soon recruited by KK Split, which was then named Jugoplastika in 1981.
He was a member of the Yugoslav junior national basketball which won silver medal and bronze medal in the junior European championship in Bulgaria in 1982 and Sweden in 1984, respectively. In the year 1992, Velimir moved to the Spanish club CB Breogan. He spent one whole season there, and the next season, he went to Tau which won the 1995 Spanish basketball. In 1997, he moved to Fuenlabrada where he played until 2002, and then moved to Alicante in 2003, where he retired from his playing career.
Coaching Career
After he retired from his basketball career, he started his coaching career. In the season 2007-2008 the head coach of CB Estudiantes was fired because of negative results of his coaching, hence Velimir became the head coach of the CB Estudiantes.
Then he went back to Zagreb, Croatia to become the head coach of KK Cibona in season 2007-2008 and 2009-2010. In season 2009, he led the team in winning the finals in the Adriatic League; there he won the best coach in the Adriatic League award in 2008-2009. He is considered as one of the best Yugoslavian coaches.
Dušan “Duda” Ivković
Dušan “Duda” Ivković was born on October 29, 1943 in Belgrade, Serbia. He is a former basketball player and current basketball coach.
He was the head coach of several Yugoslavian Sports Clubs. Some of these Sports Clubs are: Partizan Belgrade in 1978-1980 which he led to win the championships in season 1978 to 1979, Radnicki Belgrade in 1980-1982, Šibenik in 1984-1987 and Vojvodina Novi Sad in 1987-1990. From 1988 to 1995, he was the head coach of the Yugoslavian National Team.
He also led Yugoslavian and Serbian National teams to their success: 1988 Olympic Basketball with a silver medal, EuroBasket 1989 with a gold medal, 1990 FIBA World Championship with a gold medal, EuroBasket 1991 and 1995 with gold medals and EuroBasket 2009 with a silver medal.
He was also the assistant coach of the Yugoslavian National team which won 1986 FIBA World Championships with a bronze medal, EuroBasket 1987 also with a bronze medal, and the 1996 Olympic Basketball with a silver medal. He is one of the best Yugoslavian coaches, he is even named as one of 10 Greatest Coaches in Euroleague History. He is currently the head coach of the Greek League club Olympiacos Piraeus and at the same time, the head coach of the Serbian National Team.
