1. Charmian Purcell

She was born on the 7th of January, 1979 in Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand. She was one of the delegates of New Zealand’s Women Basketball team during the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing, China. During that said Olympics, they were defeated as they played with the delegates from China with the end score of 80-63 where she scored a total of 6 points and 2 rebounds.

She is playing as the Guard for the Christchurch Sirens. Purcell was regarded as the New Zealand’s Most Valuable Player in the category of Under 23 year old in the year 2001.

2. Nonila a.k.a. Noni Wharemate

She is a current member of the New Zealand’s Women National Basketball Team and is also one of the delegates of the 2008 Beijing Olympics in China.

She have also played for the New Zealand basketball team in the Commonwealth Games held in the year 2006 and also was one of the delegates of the 2004 Olympics. Just like Purcell, Wharemate is also a member of the Christchurch Sirens and was awarded as the New Zealand’s best woman defensive player of 2001. She started her professional career after she played college basketball at the University of Texas in El Paso.

3. Angela Marino

As a current player of the New Zealand Professional Women’s Basketball Team, Marino has already proved her skills to the audience of New Zealand Basketball. Born on the 3rd of February, 1986, Angela has previously played for the Canberra Capitals team which won the WNBL Championships happened in the year 2006 at Perth Lynx.

Angela Marino was born to Italian Parents with a New Zealand citizenship. She is currently playing for the team Adelaide Lightning which is currently owned by her father.

Her career in basketball started as she represented the South Australia at the under 20 year old category for the Australian Junior championships. At the age of 18 years old, she became one of the representatives for the 2004 Olympics and 2008 Beijing Olympics for the New Zealand’s Tall Ferns.

4. Micaela Cocks

Cocks is a current Female Basketball player for New Zealand. During the Commonwealth Games in the year 2006, her New Zealand Tall Ferns team have won the Silver Medal.

She was also one of the delegates foe the New Zealand’s Representative in the Summer Olympic Games in the year 2008. Cocks is currently playing for the Oregon Ducks women’s team of the University of Oregon.
