Tracy Lamar McGrady is an American native and a professional basketball player. McGrady was born on May 24, 1979 in Bartow at Florida. Though he has not reached to the college for higher education studies yet he has compensated his career by professionally adopting the basketball.
Detroit Pistons are the lucky ones to have McGrady in his team nowadays. He has started receiving his high school education from Auburndale High School at Florida. Then, he was shifted to the Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham at Carolina.
He never leave any chance to participate in inter school basketball tournaments and has always presented a laudable performance. In the Adidas ABCD Camp, McGrady has performed such efficiently that he was named as the High School Player of the Year by USA Today.
Tracy McGrady has married his girlfriend CleRenda Harris. He has a relationship of ten years with her before their marriage. They got married September 12, 2006 in Mexico. They have four children (two sons and two daughters; Laymen Lamar, Layden and Layla Clarice, Laycee Aloe). McGrady’s brother Chancellor McGrady is also a basketball player.
He has a deal with Adidas till the end of his professional career and was appeared on the cover of NBA Live 07 too. He is also a social activist and has done a lot of work in volunteering.
Then, in 1997, it appeared a time when Tracy McGrady was drafted by the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1997 NBA Draft. Toronto Raptors have honored Tracy McGrady by selecting him as the 9th overall pick. In 1999-2000 season, Tracy McGrady has got uplift in his career when he has played 34 games and has averaged 15.4 points per game and 1.9 blocks per game.
The blocks averaged by him were the season’s highest score. Then in 2000, McGrady has given a chance to play 2000 Slam Dunk Contest.
Then, in 2000-2004, Orlando Magic has traded him. Then in 2001, Tracy McGrady was titled with the NBA Most Improved Player Award. In 2002-03 season, McGrady was the youngest player to average 32.1 points per game.
Then from 2004 to 2010, Tracy McGrady was traded to the Houston Rockets. He has also played with the New York Knicks in 2010. Soon after playing with the Knicks, he has joined the Detroit Pistons in the same year. Still Tracy McGrady is playing with them.
It was seven times in his career that he remained NBA All-Star from 2001 to the year 2007. He was also NBA Scoring Champion twice in 2003 and 2004.
In his career, it happened twice that McGrady was the All-NBA First Team (2002-2003) and All-NBA Third Team (2005-2008) and three times Tracy McGrady was selected as the All-NBA Second Team in the year 2001, 2004 and 2007. When there held FIBA Americas Championship in 2003 at San Juan, he has won the first ever gold medal of his life.
