Demetrius Antonio Battie being a representative of Philadelphia 76ers is a known professional basketball player of America.

He used to play in centre and power forward position, Battie has switched to various teams of NBA by building up his career in the professional field of basketball. Demetrius Antonio Battie was born on February 11, 1976 at Dallas in Texas.

Tony Battie’s brother Derrick is also an athlete. Derrick is a player of Basketball and he used to play Basketball at the Temple University. Tony Battie has started his high school education from the South Oak Cliff High School at Dallas.

Battie has joined Texas Tech to fulfill his university education. Battie took part in the college team of basketball and he has joined the team Texas Tech Red Raiders. He has maintained his basketball career by hitting 162 blocked shots.

He has finished his Rookie season with the Denver Nuggets and then has joined Boston Celtics from 1998-2003. Tony Battie has played 82 games in total.

In the year 2003-2004, Tony Battie was traded to Cleveland Cavaliers by Boston Celtics. He has played only for one year with the Cavaliers. While playing with the Cavaliers, Tony Battie suffered from an injury. His right hand got injured because of which he was unable to make his presence in the season 2007-08 season.

Then he has signed the contract of Orlando Magic for the time period of four years. So, the period of 2005 to 2009 was spent with the Orlando Magic by Tony Battie. When he has started first thirty playoff games in this tenure, he could not make their playoffs a success. They had totally lost the five playoff games against Laker’s in 2009 NBA Finals.

Then, the basketball journey of Tony Battie was headed to New Jersey Nets from 2009-10. He was traded in place of Vince Carter by Orlando. From 2010 to the present, Tony Battie has signed the contract of playing with the Philadelphia 76ers.
