Ray Allen

An American shooter player in the basketball, Walter Ray Allen is a dedicated sportsman.

Ray Allen is representing the Boston Celtics team in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on July 20, 1975 at Castle Air Force Base near Merced, California. Ray Allen has played for the various teams. He has a rich career background with numerous Achievements in his sports life.

Ray was also starred in one of the movie which was a box office hit in those times. He has won three gold medals in Sydney 2000, 2003 San Juan and 1995 Fukuoka.

Ray Allen has four siblings. Since, he was a military child therefore his initial childhood days were spent at different stations. He was brought up at Saxmundham (England), Altus (Oklahoma), Edwards Air Force Base (California), Germany and Dalzell (South Carolina).

In Dalzell, Ray Allen had his schooling at Hillcrest High School. There he started playing basketball and participated in basketball state championship.

The year 1993-96 was a time of his college days and Allen joined University of Connecticut. Ray Allen had a label of All American. In the year 1995, he was honored as the USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year. In the next year, when he was still at college, Ray Allen won the award of Big East Player of the Year.

Then, in 2001 Ray Allen was selected as the honorary Captain at UConn All-Century Basketball team. He was a captain of 25 members in a team. On Feb 5, 2007, there held the ceremony of “Huskies of Honor” and Ray Allen was as Connecticut’s Gampel Pavilion.

Ray Allen moved his career in three of the teams in different tenures. In the year 1996 to 2003; Milwaukee Bucks enjoyed his presence in the team. Then, in the year 2003-2008 Seattle Supersonics drafted him and he played in this team with the improved efforts. From 2007 till to date, Ray Allen survived in Boston Celtics and is still playing for Boston Celtics.

In 1996, NBA Draft selected him as the fifth pick in Milwaukee Bucks then Ray Allen became the member of NBA’s All-Rookie Second Team in the same year. While playing for Milwaukee Bucks, Ray Allen has a shinning time period in the year 2000-01 where he achieved 3-point shootout. He played such during All-Star Weekend and from there he was selected in an All-NBA Third Team.

Then, it was a time when Ray Allen played with Seattle Supersonics. In this tenure, Ray Allen averaged 6.4 points per game with 4.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He had a bright time during the year 2003-07 where he had maintained a good record. On scoring 15000 points, Ray Allen was the 97th player in NBA history. Then, on April 19, 2006 he broke the record of Dennis Scott 3-point field goals against the Denver Nuggets.
In the year 2007, Ray accepted the 2007 NBA Draft for Boston Celtics. Here Allen scored 17000 points. In 2008, When Milwaukee was celebrating its 40th Anniversary Team Celebration; Allen was awarded the 3rd best of the 20 top players in the history. Ray Allen made many records and maintained a good career history while playing for Boston Celtics.

Spike Lee casted him in his movie “He Got Game” where Ray Allen played the character of a school basketball athlete. Ray Allen was also starred in “Harvard Man” in 2001. He was also a member of Air Jordan brand of Nike. No doubt a player, a star and an energetic athlete with remarkable performances is the name of Ray Allen.
