Quentin Richardson Bio

One of the important personalities from the World of basketball is Quentin Richardson.

He is an American professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Around these days, Richardson is playing for the Orlando Magic of the NBA. Quentin Richardson is a swingman in the field of basketball.

Quentin Richardson was born on April 13, 1980 in Chicago at Illinois. His father’s name is Lee Richardson and Mother’s name is Emma Richardson. He has started playing basketball from the early years of his schooling.

He was enrolled in the Whitney Young High School. He is a legend in his school as he has averaged more than 100 three-point field goals, more than 500 rebounds and more than 1000 points. A record maintained by him in the history of school is the effort of Richardson’s hard work.

Then Richardson got admission in the DePaul University to accomplish his educational career. Other than studies, basketball playing was his passion and he has invested his time in practicing this sport too. While playing basketball in the De Paul, he succeeded in averaging 17.9 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game.

He has also established a shining career in his college. In 1999, Richardson was the Player of the Year by The Chicago Sun-Times. In 1998-1999 season, Conference USA has honored Richardson with the titles; Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

Richardson was drafted by National Basketball Association (NBA) in 2000 NBA Draft. He was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 18th pick. Richardson has played with them from the year 2000 to the year 2004. When Richard was staying with the Clippers, a documentary was pictured on him that was based on his initial three years with the Clippers.

This documentary was released with the label of The Youngest Guns.

In the year 2004, Richardson was traded to the Phoenix Suns. He has played with them till the year 2005. He has shown a marvelous performance by giving 631 three-point attempts and 226 three-point field goals.

This performance has raised the status of Phoenix Suns as well. On December 29, 2004; Richardson has scored nine threes against the New Orleans Hornets. He contributed in setting another record for the Phoenix Suns. His tenure with the Suns is remarkable. He has also played his debut playoff against the San Antonio Spurs.

From the year 2005 to the year 2009, Richardson has been traded to the New York Knicks. Investing his hard work in basketball day by day has polished his moves and skills quite a lot. Richardson has to suffer from the chronic back ache. He was such severely injured that he was unable to play the matches.

Eventually the number of matches that he used to play lagged behind. He has rejoined basketball playing in the 2008-09 season. Soon afterwards, Miami Heat has traded him. He has also been worked for a very little time with the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Clippers.

This duration was very small based on weeks or days, so it is almost negligible in accounting for his record in the field. In the year 2010, Orlando Magic has traded him and still to the present, he is playing with them.

He is a gold medalist in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship that was held in 1998 at Puerto Plata. In 2005, Quentin Richardson was declared as an NBA Three-Point Shootout Champion.
