Phil Jackson

History has witnessed an outstanding basketball coach with the name of Phil Jackson who is an excellent player and had a shining career in his lifetime.

Phil Jackson was born in Deer Lodge, Montana on September 17, 1945. He is proud of his services that he rendered being a coach. Phil Jackson has won 11 NBA titles as a coach and had made a record.

He coached the basketball team of Chicago Bulls and also of Los Angeles Lakers. Being a head coach of Chicago Bulls, in 1989-98, Chicago won six NBA titles. When he was a coach of Los Angeles Lakers, there he had won five NBA titles.

Phil Jackson is famous for the approaches which he uses being a Coach; triangle offense and holistic approaches used by him in Coaching basketball players.

In the year 1996, when National Basketball Association was celebrating its 50th anniversary, Phil Jackson was honored being one of the 10 greatest coaches in league history. He has played in the forward position and the center position. As a player, he has won two rings in 1970 and 1973 being a player for New York Knicks.

Jackson was born in home that had belongings from Assemblies of God Ministers. His father Charles used to preach on Sunday Mornings and his mother Elizabeth used to preach on Sunday evenings. His brought up was in an environment which was restricted to listening music, watching television and even attending clubs, etc.

Phil Jackson was accustomed to such culture of entertainment in his school and college days.

When he was a player, he represented New York Knicks. Then in 1970, he suffered from a spinal fusion and had to undergo through its surgery. Jackson retired from the basketball play in 1980 and he joined basketball as a coach in 1984. He coached the brilliant teams of Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.

Both of these teams were competent for any other team in the NBA.Jackson rendered his services as a coach for Chicago Bulls from the year 1989 to 1998. He remained the coach of Los Angeles Lakers from 1999-2004 and then from 2005 to till date. He helped a lot for his players to have a winning game.

He teaches tricks and tactics, His coaching has enabled his team to have remarkable success while playing upon Jackson’s coaching.It was eleven times in the life of Phil Jackson that NBA Champion title remained with him. The years 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 were named as NBA Champion years because of Jackson. Even, the years 2000-2002 and 2009-2010 were also marked by the same title.
He won being the name of Eastern Conference Champion for six times in his career, 1991-93 and 1996-98 were the years of this fame. Seven times was the turn when his coaching led his team as Western Conference Champion.

He was also nominated and awarded as NBA All-Star Game Coach in the year 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2009.Phil Jackson is an amazing and brilliant coach with 6.7 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game and 1.1 assists per game that makes 5428 points, 3454 rebounds and 898 assists as his NBA career statistics.
