Luke Walton Bio

Luke Theodore Walton is an American native and a basketball player.

He plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is serving the Los Angeles Lakers around these days. He is a son of one of the legends of basketball player of National Basketball Association (NBA). His father’s name is Bill Walton.

Luke Walton was born on March 28, 1980 in San Diego at California. Walton has three siblings and all are the brothers (Adam, Nathan and Chris). He is a great admirer of his mother as she has raised four boys in her life.

All of them are into sports and everyone is crazy for the basketball. His brothers have also adopted basketball playing as a profession. Luke Walton has majored in Family studies.

Walton has joined University of San Diego High School for the graduation. Soon after the completion of his graduation; in the year 1998, he was enrolled in the University of Arizona. Here he has gained his Degree of bachelors in the Family Studies. Being a bright student, Walton is also a great performer in the field of basketball.

He plays in the small forward position. In his college times, Walton has averaged 15.7 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, 6.3 assists per game, 1.6 steals per game and 0.6 blocks per game. He was in his junior year when he has maintained this average.

When Walton was studying in his fifth year, he succeeded in averaging 10.8 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, and 5.1 assists per game with 0.9 steals per game.

In the 2003, when Walton has graduated from his University, he has started foreseeing his future in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Since, his father also remained a player of NBA, thus Walton has always imagined himself to be a part of NBA.

In 2003, his imagination turned into reality and Walton was selected by the National Basketball Association (NBA). Walton got selected in the 2003 NBA Draft. Los Angeles Lakers have selected him on the 32nd overall pick. From the year 2003 to the present day, Walton is still rendering his services to the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was the year 2004 when Walton suffered from an injury and was unable to continue playing basketball for a little time. Soon afterwards, when he has re-joined basketball playing, he succeeded in averaging 2.4 points per game, 1.8 rebounds per game and 1.6 assists per game in 10.1 minutes by playing 72 games. This season was one of the best in his professional career.

In the 2004-05 season, Walton has averaged 3.2 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game by playing 61 games and consumed 12.6 minutes. While playing against the Seattle Supersonics, he has scored season-high 19 points. With the progressing days in the professional line of the basketball, Walton has improved quite a lot.

Now, Walton has averaged 5.0 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game and 2.3 assists per game in 19.3 minutes and has played 69 games.

In his latest records of 2011, Walton has averaged 2.4 points per game, 1.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in just 9.4 minutes and has appeared in 29 games. Following his Dad’s footsteps, Walton has won twice the championship of NBA being an NBA Champion in the year 2009 and 2010.
