Lamar Odom Bio

Lamar Joseph Odom, an American Professional basketball player is currently playing for the Los Angeles Lakers of National Basketball Association (NBA).

He was born on November 6, 1979 in South Jamaica, Queens at New York. Odom is an athlete who has started playing basketball in early school days. He has continued playing basketball and is now professionally into sports.

Lamar Odom is married to Khloe Kardashian. He has also three kids; Destiny, Lamar Jr. and Jayden from his ex-girlfriend. To his marriage with the Kardashian, live coverage was given by the E! He owns his music and film production company with the label Rich Soil Entertainment.

Lamar Odom was enrolled in three of the High Schools to complete his high school studies. First he has joined Christ The King Regional High School at New York. Then, he has been shifted to another school Redemption Christian Academy at New York. He used to play basketball in his schools and major reason to join another institute is basketball. After a little while, Lamar Odom was enrolled in St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, Connecticut.

Odom was honored by playing with the players of basketball; Elton Brand and Ron Artest in his youth times. Initially, Odom has joined University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1997. Then, Odom left this university because of an academic scandal and was then enrolled in University of Rhode Island. Lamar Odom got a chance to play basketball in one of the season at University of Rhode Island. He has participated in Atlantic 10 Conference.

He has averaged 17.6 points per game by leading his team to the conference championship. It was 1999 and in the same year, Lamar Odom was drafted by National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1999 NBA Draft.

He has started his career by joining Los Angeles Clippers and played for them from 1999 to 2003. He was selected as the fourth overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers. In his freshman season, Odom was succeeded in averaging 16.6 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game and 4.2 assists per game. In November 2001, he was alleged and caught in case of Drug Abuse by NBA. Odom has voilated the policy of NBA and was suspended by Los Angeles Clippers.

In the season 2007-08, Lamar Odom has averaged 14.2 points per game, 10.6 rebounds per game and 3.5 assissts per game. Then, in 2008-09 NBA season, Odom has averaged 16.5 points per game, 13.4 rebounds per game, 2.4 assissts per game with 1.4 blocks and 9 steals. Then, Miami Heat has selected him and he has played for one year with them. From the year 2004 to the present date, Odom is playing with the Los Angeles Lakers and is winning laurels in his career.

In the year 2000, Lamar Odom was selected as the NBA All-Rookie First Team when he was working for the Los Angeles Clippers Then, in 2004, when Summer Olympics were held at Athens, Lamar Odom has won Bronze medal.

In the year 2009 and 2010; he has rewarded with the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Lamar has won gold medal in the 2010 while competing in FIBA World Championship. Though Lamar Odom had to face little tragedies in personal and professional life yet he has proficiently shown his skills in the basketball playing and has maintained a bright record in career.
