Kobe Bryant was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the youngest among the 3 children of Joe Bryant and Pamela Cox Bryant. His parents named him after the famous beef of Kobe, Japan which they saw on a restaurant menu.

Start of playing basketball

He started playing basketball at the age of 3 and his favorite team when he was growing up is Lakers. They moved to Italy when he was 6 because Joe started playing professional basketball there.

His grandfather being a fan of NBA too sends him video games which he enjoy studying. When his father Joe retired from playing basketball they moved back to the United States.

High school basketball career

When he was in high school he did well in the basketball field. He studied at Lower Merion High School and played for the junior and senior varsity basketball team. During his sophomore days his father was the coach of the team.

The team did well in with Bryant Playing all five positions. He ended his career as all-time leading scorer at 2,883 points. He was named and awarded as Naismith High School Player of the Year, Men’s National Basketball Player of the Year. The coach of the varsity team of the school even said that Kobe Bryant was a complete player who dominates.

NBA career

He became the first guard to be taken out of high school. He was 17 then and his parents needed to cosign his contract with the Lakers. He was picked by the Los Angeles Lakers team. He was the youngest player who was able to play in the NBA.

Since then Kobe started making history in the National Basketball Association, he proved that he was not just the youngest but also one of the best players in the league.

Kobe Bryant scoring 81 points marked the people the most. He became the 2nd highest scorer in a single game next to Wilt Chamberlain who scored 100 points.

He even beat the record of his co Laker’s record holder Elgin Baylor (71), David Robinson (71) and David Thompson (73). Kobe scored 81 points on January 22, 2006 (Sunday) against Toronto Raptors.

It was 1.7 points per minute or in this case 1.9 points per minute since Kobe actually sat 6 minutes against the Toronto Raptors. To those who had witnessed this event whether it is on screen or live it definitely made the be amazed and conclude that it is one of the most memorable event that happened in the NBA history.
