J.R Smith Bio

An American basketball player is Earl Smith III. He is professionally playing for the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is representing Denver Nuggets these days.

He is commonly known as J.R. Smith. He plays as a guard in the team. He is active into various jobs other than only basketball playing.

J.R. Smith was born on September 9, 1985 in Freehold at New Jersey. His parents are Ida Smith and Earl Smith. J.R. Smith has five siblings out of which there are three brothers and two sisters.

Demi is a cute little infant of J.R. Smith. He is a sports lover person. He is also interested in playing football and baseball other than basketball. Even football is Smith’s favorite sport.Smith has first attended Millstone Middle School. He has completed his graduation from this school.

Then Smith has shifted himself to Steinert High School and has also joined McCorriston High School. Then, Smith stayed at Lakewood High School. Finally, Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School was his last destination in the educational career. Here Smith has not only pursued his educational curriculum but also started taking basketball playing serious in life. Smith has averaged 27 points per game, 6 rebounds per game and 5 assists per game in his school times.

New Orleans Hornets have selected Smith in the 2004 NBA Draft of National Basketball Association. Smith has been selected as the overall 18th pick by the New Orleans Hornets.

Now the professional career of Smith has started in the field of Basketball. At that point, Smith was succeeded in averaging 10.3 points per game, 2.0 rebounds per game and 1.9 assists per game. In the year 2005, Smith has got the chance to participate in the Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk Competition.

It was July 19, 2006; when Smith was traded to the Denver Nuggets as a guard. Smith was happy playing with every team as his preference is put in best with the sportsman spirit rather than the usual or personal choices.

Tragically, Smith was suspended to play 10 games because of his involvement in Knicks-Nuggets Brawl. It was December 16, 2006 when Smith has to face this decision by the National Basketball Association (NBA) as per their policies. Smith has re-joined with passion and on April 13, 2009; Smith has scored highest points in his career till then which were 45 points.

Smith has also reached in the playoffs in his career and has averaged 18.3 points per game in only 27 minutes. His per game shooting percentage was 53.5. In his career, Smith has also maintained 31.8 % in three-point shooting.

J.R. Smith has worked with New Orleans Hornets, Chicago Bulls and Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association. Smith is also a philanthropist and has donated to the sufferers of the Hurricane Katrina.

His favorite food is baked ziti and he love to play video games out of which playing NCAA College Football is his best choice to have in leisure. He is also interested in watching movies and his favorite movie is “Love & Basketball”; a choice according to his profession and interest as well.
