Jason Richardson Bio

Jason Anthoney Richardson is famous because of his terrific style of playing basketball.

He is an efficient three-pointer and plays as a shooting guard and small forward. Richardson is a professional basketball player of National Basketball Association (NBA). Currently, he is representing Orlando Magic of NBA.

He has marked his career with his several titles and honors. Richardson presents enthralling performance in the basketball playing.

Jason Richardson was born on January 20, 1981 in Saginaw at Michigan. His father’s name is Elaine Richardson-Cook. He bears a nick name “J-Rich”. Richardson has three brothers and two sisters; Duane, Damond, Terrene and, Tiffany and Trameka respectively. J-Rich has always been an admirer of his mother and his uncle in life. He has three children, two sons (Jason II and Jackson) and one daughter (Jaela’).

He has joined the college, Michigan State University and was enrolled in the degree program of child psychology. Though J-Rich has not completed his degree but now he often plans to accomplish it.

J-Rich was also fond of playing hockey in his school times. When his height was growing then he discovered that he can also adopt basketball playing in his life. In his University times (the year 1999), Richardson has won McDonald’s All-American and Mr. Basketball of Michigan.

He was drafted in 2001 by Golden State Warriors in 2001 NBA Draft as the fifth overall pick. Richardson has stayed with them from the year 2001 to 2007. In 2002, Richardson had his Rookie year and he participated in the Rookie Challenge. When it was 2003, he was in the sophomore of his Rookie year.

Initially, in 2002; Richardson was awarded with the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In 2003, he has received Rookie Challenge MVP. Richardson has played a key role in lifting up the status of Golden State Warriors and eventually they played their first playoff game in the 13 years.

In the season 2008-2010; Richardson was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats. He was traded on June 28, 2007 to them by the Golden State Warriors. With the passage of time, he has started gaining the fame in this field.

He used to be extra energetic in playing basketball and has always been lauded by his audience and coaches. From the year 2008 to 2010; Richardson has joined another basketball team. He was traded to Phoenix Suns on December 10, 2008. During his tenure with the Suns, he succeeded in scoring highest 21 points. In the 2010, he was further traded to Orlando Magic and is still playing for them.

J-Rich is a philanthropist and has donated quite times to the needy people. Once he has fed needy people on returning back to his hometown. He has donated $ 23000 as charity. He has also organized a body to work for the Haiti sufferers in the earthquake.

Richardson was considered as the best dunker and he has performed well while playing the Slam Dunk Contest of basketball. In the 2002-2003 season, Richardson has achieved the title of NBA Slam Dunk Champion. It happened twice in this season that Richardson was awarded with this title. He is considered to be one of the best Dunker in the basketball.
