David Lee Bio

David Lee is an American native and a professional player of the basketball.

He is serving for the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nowadays, David Lee is playing to represent Golden State Warriors of the NBA. New York Knicks have selected David Lee in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He plays in the power forward and the centre position while playing the basketball.

David Lee was born on April 29, 1983 is St. Louis at Missouri. He has selected the Chiminade College Preparatory School situated in the Creve Coeur at Missouri. Initially, Lee was a left handed and unfortunately his arm was broken.

Soon David Lee has learned the art to play being a right-handed. Lee has been awarded with the McDonald’s All American. Even, David Lee got a chance to participate in the Slam Dunk Competition in the year 2001.

It was the step to join a university for the accomplishment of the graduation studies in David Lee’s life. Lee was enrolled in the University of Florida and has earned a degree in sociology.

He has studied up to the undergraduate degree program but in the sports, he has played very professionally. His attitude towards basketball playing was quite impressive and professional. This was the case that a day came in his life and basketball became his profession today in life.

During his tenure at the University of Florida, Lee has appeared in 127 games in total and has successfully averaged 11.3 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, with the shooting percentage of 25% by utilizing just 25.0 minutes.

When Lee was a freshman, he has played the 31 games of basketball and had averaged 11.2 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game, and 1.8 assists per game with a field goal percentage of 64.8% in consuming 26.2 minutes. At that time, he was honored as the All-SEC Freshman Team.

When Lee was in his junior year in the 2003-04 season, he has averaged 13.3 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game, with career high 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals and has shot a goal percentage of 58.8 % within 27.5 minutes of time.

When Lee was in his senior year, he was succeeded in averaging 13.6 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per game and 1.1 steals per game. He has played the 32 games of basketball in his senior year at the University of Florida. There, he has also earned the SEC All-tournament honors.

It was a time which is considered to be a golden moment in the life of basketball players in the year 2005. David Lee was drafted by the National Basketball Association (NBA). The New York Knicks have selected him on the 2005 NBA Draft. David Lee was drafted by New York Knicks in the first round with the 30th overall pick.

Lee has played till the five years with the Knicks and was then traded to the Golden State Warriors in the year 2010. It was July 9, 2010; when Lee became a free agent and was traded to the Golden State Warriors in place of Anthony Randolph, Kelenna Azubuike and Ronny Turaif.

This contract was signed by Lee for the duration of six years and it is worth $ 80 million. In 2007, Lee was announced as the All-Star Rookie game MVP and then in the year 2010, he was selected as the NBA All-Star Selection.
