Better Basketball Dunking

Basketball dunking makes the crowd go wild. And so does this guy.

Vince Carter. He's been my inspiration. Listen closely to what he has to say about the "subject" that he knows better than anyone.

This is the only interview with Vince that I could find, where he talks about dunking.

My favorite part is when he was asked whether he feels sorry about any other guy he's dunked on. Aah, no!

I was also little surprised to hear him say that in the very last moment is when he decides what kind of dunk he is going to do. I guess because he's got so many dunks to choose from:)

Here is a picture of me as a kid, wearing a Vince Carter Jersey and holding a mini-vince that stays on my shelf:)

I liked him the most when he was playing in Toronto. In those good old days with Tracy McGrady. That's why I got this jersey. Well, the mini-vince wears the all star jersey but it doesn't matter. I can live with that.

Did you know that?

  • Vince was first drafted to play for the "Golden State Warriors"
  • He wanted to wear number 23 but his parents changed his mind. They said he should try something else and make it famous.
  • Shaquille O’Neal once said that his favourite player is Vince Carter. No wonder you see him video-tape Vince during the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest when he won.
  • While Vince Carter was in college, he kept a log of all his dunks.

Here's my favourtie quote from him:

“Just be yourself and do what you can do. Everybody is different. Everybody has different styles. Just do it the best way you know how.”
