Andre Miller Bio

An American Professional player of National Basketball Association (NBA) who plays as a guard is Andre Lloyd Miller.

Andre Miller was born on March 19, 1976 in Los Angeles at California. Around these days, Andre Miller is playing for Portland Trail Blazers. He has always been impressed by a personality whom he loves a lot. In his eyes, from the times when he was growing up, he has always respected and admired his mother, Andrea Robinson.

Andre Miller has joined Verbum Dei High School and he has started playing basketball. From then, he has also started participating in the basketball tournaments and games. In his senior year at the Verbum Dei High School, he has participated in the CIF 4A Championship.

The performance which he has shown and the way of his playing basketball have led him to win the honor of CIF 4A Player of the Year. He was fond of playing football too and was also a quarter back in the high school league MVP League.

Then it came the time for him to decide for his future in studies and the institute as well. He has got admission in the University of Utah and stayed there till four years. He has graduated in the Sociology from the University of Utah in the spring session of 1998; even he has started attaining his Master’s degree in sociology but he could not complete that because of being drafted by NBA (National Basketball Association).

It was his performance in the NCAA Tournament triple-double that took his team to the NCAA championship game.At first, Cleveland Cavaliers have drafted him with the 8th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft. He stayed with them while playing basketball till 2002.

It was his Rookie year when he has averaged 11.1 points per game and 5.8 assists per game. In the next year, his scoring average has changed from 15.8 points per game and 8 assists per game. When he was in final year with the Cavaliers, he has improved his average such that he has scored 16.5 points per game and 10.8 assists per game.

It was 2000, when he was honored with the NBA All Rookie First Team. He has also set a record by remaining Player of the Week two times. He has maintained his good average in the career by investing proper dedication in playing basketball.

Then, from 2002-03, Los Angeles Clippers have traded Andre Miller. After a period of one year with the Los Angeles Clippers, Andre Miller has joined Denver Nuggets and has played for them from 2003 to 2006.

He is the player who has set records in averaging highest number of assists and was among the top four in the season 2006-07. In those times, he was playing with the Philadelphia 76ers. From 2006 to 2009, he has spent his tenure of basketball with them. When it was 2009, then Andre Miller has joined Portland Trail Blazers and is still playing for them.

He has a remarkable history of awards in his career. He has won two medals and both of them are gold medals. First one was received by him in the year 1998 when there held Goodwill Games in New York. Then, the second gold medal was won by him in the Goodwill Games in 2001 at Brisbane.
