It is my wont that what ever I say it, I always mean it. It was my wish to be a Knick and here I want to finish my career”. These are the words spoken by a basketball player Al Harrington. Al Harrington is a professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Right no, he is playing for the Denver Nuggets.

Albert Harrington was born on February 17, 1980 in Orange at New Jersey. Al Harrington plays in the forward position in the court of basketball.

He is a profound and proficient player. He is also a social activist and has arranged many of the fund raising programs. He has spent his childhood at Orange, New Jersey. When he has grown up a little, his family has shifted to the Roselle, New Jersey. There he has gained his high school studies and was admitted in the St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth at New Jersey.

The high school boy has always been passionate in playing the basketball and he has started playing basketball in his school days. He used to participate in inter school tournaments and contests. From there, Albert Harrington has got fame and USA Today has introduced him in the professional field. In Fact USA today has selected him initially. Al Harrington has continued his basketball playing journey in many of the teams of NBA (National Basketball Association).

Al Harrington is also into community work and he has served himself in a commendable way for the cause of people too. He has founded an organization with the name of “Al Harrington Foundation”.

The areas of interests of Al Harrington Foundation endows with the educational needs of the youth who can not afford studying. They carry out program for them to realize them the importance of education and then give them such opportunities. They work for the youth who are affected by the poverty, illness, abuse and negligence in life.

The Al Harrington Foundation has also terms with the media, state and other partnering foundations. The Al Harrington Foundation also works for the children to provide them incentive to education, health, social problems and they persuade children to realize the importance of their energy.

When Harrington was only 18 years old lad, he was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the overall pick of number 25. He has started playing for them from 1998 to the year 2004. He has maintained a good career record while staying with them. In the end of season 2001-02, Al Harrington has got a knee injury and he was unable to play further games of this season. He has averaged 13.3 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game at the end of his tenure.

He has also won NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award while having his participation with the Indiana Pacers.

In 2004-06, Al Harrington has played with the Atlanta Hawks. Then, from 2007 to 2008, it was turn for the Golden State Warriors to have Harrington with them as a forward in their team.

It was 2008 when Harrington has joined New York Knicks and it was his childhood wish to be a part of Knicks. Now, from 2010 and to the present, Harrington is playing with the Denver Nuggets.

Albert Harrington and Stephen Jackson have their own brand of footwear with the label of “Protégé” where they meet the comfort, luxury and style for their sneakers.
