Ty Lawson Bio

Tywon "Ty" Ronell Lawson, an American basketball player. He was born on November 3, 1987 in Clinton, Maryland.

Currently Lawson is playing for Denver Nuggets of the NBA, and was drafted in the 2009 NBA Draft as the 18th overall pick. He wears No. 3 jersey, and his listed height and weight are 5 ft 11 in (1.80 m) and 195 lb (88 kg) respectively.

Lawson was named the ACC Player of the Year, it was for the first time in the history of basketball that a point guard had won the ACC's highest honor since long before in 1978 Tar Heel Phil Ford had won the same award. During his high school career Lawson participated in the McDonald's All-American Game, Jordan Classic and the Nike Hoop Summit.

in the 2006–07 season Lawson began playing for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, and led the Tar Heels with 5.6 assists per game and was fourth with 10.2 points per game. Although he got very less to play, during his sophomore year because of an ankle sprain that kept him out much of the season, but even then he had 12.7 ppg and 5.3 assists per game.

In 2009, April Lawson announced that he would enter the 2009 NBA Draft.
