Trevor Ariza Biography

Trevor Anthony Ariza, is an American basketball player. He was born on June 30, 1985 in Miami, Florida. Ariza who is 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m) tall and weighing 210 lb (95 kg) is currently playing for the New Orleans Hornets of National Basketball Association.

Wearing No. 1 shirt ariza plays at small forward position. In Los Angeles, California, he attended Westchester High School where as a junior he along with other teammates led the Comets to the California State championship. In 2004, after one season at UCLA Ariza declared for the NBA draftc. During NAB draft Ariza was a second round choice, overallcc 43rd of the New York Knicks.

His NAB career records show that Ariza started his rookie season coming off the bench. He was the second youngest rookie in Knicks history to play in 80 games at the age of 19. In second season, he played in 36 games and started in 10. In February 2006, Ariza was traded to the Orlando Magic.

After that he played in 21 games and averaged 4.7 per game. He played in 57 games and started in 7, averaging a career high 8.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in the 2006-07 season.

Ariza was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in November 2007. In January 2008, his bone get fractured in his right foot, but made his return in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, and scored a basket within his first minute of play. He is mostally called as nickname "Cobra", because of his quickness and ability to strike on defense.

He played a career high of 80 games, starting in 20 in the 2008-09 season. Ariza was ejected during a game on March, 2009, following a flagrant foul. On March, 2009, Ariza, scored a career high 26 points along with 3 steals, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Ariza signed an agreement with the Houston Rockets worth $33 million over five years On July, 2009. Ariza made a career-high 6 triples, in a 127-99 win, where he scored 22 points on February, 2010. On April he recorded his first career triple-double, tallying 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
