Theo Ratliff Bio

Theophilus Curtis Ratliff is an American professional basketball player and was on born April 17, 1973 in Demopolis, Alabama.

His full name is Theophilus Curtis Ratliff but is mostly known as Theo Ratliff. Currently Ratliff is playing with the Los Angeles Lakers of NBA. He wears No. 50 shirt and primarily a center, he is an excellent shot-blocker who has led the league three times in blocks per game and is fifth among active players in total blocks. Ratliff is 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m) tall and his listed weight 235 lb (107 kg).

NAB records for Ratliff showed that, he was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 18th pick in the 1995 NBA Draft. He played for Detroit Pistons for 2½ seasons.

He was then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers during 1997–98 season, for whom he played for three seasons. Ratliff was voted Eastern Conference starting center of the 2001 All-Star Game.

2003–04, was Ratliff's best year as a pro and he recorded a league-leading 307 blocked shots. Los Angeles Lakers, signed Ratliff on July 22, 2010 to a 1-year deal.

During his early life Ratliff played basketball at Demopolis High School, and he graduated from the University of Wyoming. Important achievements and awards made by Ratliff are he won NBA All-Star in 2001 and 2× All-Defensive Second Team in 1999 and again in 2004. Ratliff won Gold medal in FIBA U21 World Championship in 1993 Valladolid while playing for National team. His 2011 Salary is $854,389.

Theo Ratliff, on Nov. 2010 underwent arthroscopic surgery to perform a partial meniscectomy on his left knee, and he hasn't played since Nov. 9. In eight games, he's averaging 0.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks a game and he is a 15-year NBA veteran. Ratliff's PPG is 0.3, RPG 1.6, APG 0.4 and his FG% is .167. His rookie year was 1995.
