Spencer Hawes Bio

Spencer Hawes is an American native and is an efficient player of the basketball.

He is winning laurels in the basketball by playing professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Though Spencer Hawes was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers but currently he is playing to represent Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Spencer Mason Reynvaan- Hawes is his full name. He plays the basketball in the centre position. Spencer Hawes stands seven feet and one inch tall. His listed weight is 245 pounds. Spencer Hawes was born on April 28, 1988 in Seattle at Washington to Jeff and Lisa Hawes.

His father and uncle have also played for the National Basketball Association (NBA) as well in the 1972-74 and 1970-72 seasons respectively. His wont is to have a steak and potatoes as a pre- game meal.

He has a great interest in the current affairs and the politics. Besides being a professional basketball player, Spencer Hawes was a hardworking and an intelligent student who has completed his studies by attaining the 3.70 GPA (grade-point average).Hawes has attended the Seattle Prep High School in the Seattle at Washington. He has proficiently played basketball in his school and college times.

Even he left no room of improvement in his basketball playing during his life. Day by day, he has enthralled everyone with his skillful tactics and moves. Hawes has contributed in leading his team to perform in the State Championship for the 2005-06 season.

He was named as the Most Valuable Player in the tournament by the authorities. He has also got a chance to be appreciated by the Associated Press All-American, McDonald’s All-American, USA Today All-American and Parade Magazine. In the year 2006, Hawes was named as the Gatorade Player of the Year in the Boys Basketball Washington and the Player of the Year in the Seattle Times.

Then Spencer Hawes was enrolled in the University of Washington and has played very well. Initially, Hawes has average 14.9 points per game and was announced on the tenth rank in the Pac-10. He has also marked his college career by setting a new record of 461 points being a freshman player. He has also posted three double-doubles in his collegiate career.

In the year 2007, Spencer Hawes has joined the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Sacramento Kings in 2007 NBA Draft. Sacramento Kings have selected Spencer Hawes in the very first round and on the tenth overall pick. In the Rookie year of Hawes at NBA with the Sacramento Kings, he has played 71 games in total.

Spencer Hawes has averaged 4.7 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, and 6.6 blocks per game with a field goal percentage of 0.459. In the next year, he has raised his scre average by 11.4 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game with 1.2 blocks per game by marking a field goal percentage of 0.466.

It was June 17, 2010 when Spencer Hawes was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and he is still representing this team in the basketball playing. He is a gold medalist and was awarded with the gold medal in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in the year 2006 at San Antonio.
