Ryan Gomes Bio

Ryan Gomes is an American native and a professional basketball player.

He is professionally playing basketball in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

In total of his six year based professional career, Gomes has played with various teams of the NBA. Currently, Ryan Gomes is playing for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Ryan Anthony Gomes is his complete name. He stands six feet and seven inches tall with the listed weight of 250 pounds. Being an energetic player, Gomes always plays in a power forward and small forward position.

Ryan Anthony Gomes was born on September 1, 1982 in Waterbury at Connecticut. His parents name is Teresa Gomes and John Brooks. Marcellus is his younger brother. Gomes has married Danielle and they are blesses with a daughter Ryelle. He is a passionate player in the basketball. Besides his profession, he is also keen in every activity of basketball.

His favorite teams include the New York Yankees and San Francisco 49ers. To the Massachusetts Governor’s Committee on Physical Fitness and Sports, Ryan remained an active supporter of it.

Ryan Gomes has joined Wilby (Waterbury) High School for his studies. Like so many wise basketball players, he has never lagged behind in studies with the sports. Then, Gomes was enrolled in the Providence College. He has won laurels in the basketball playing by participating and winning many of the tournaments. Ryan Gomes has majored in the Social Sciences from the Providence College.

While staying at his college, Gomes successfully has scored 2138 points in total and stood fifth in case of hitting 1028 rebounds. Being a freshman, Gomes appeared in the 24 games and has successfully averaged 13.8 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game. He has scored them the second-highest points.

His field goal percentage was 55.9 % and he has settled his rebounding average by marking 7.8 rebounds per game as mentioned earlier. In his junior year, Gomes has played 29 games in total and has averaged 18.9 points per game with 9.4 rebounds per game. There, he got a chance to be named as the First Team All-America by the Associated Press.

In his senior season at the Providence College, he is a lucky player to also stand on the sixth rank by making 40 double-doubles. He has played 31 games in total and had successfully averaged 21.6 points per game, 8.2 rebounds per game. He has marked the history for the second time of the Providence College by leading his team to participate in the Big East in the League Games.

He has scored 23.2 points per game in that tournament. Then, that golden memorable moment hit his life in the year 2005 when Ryan Gomes was drafted by the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He was selected in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. They have selected him on the 50th overall pick in the second round of the selection game. While staying for two years with the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves was made the future of the Ryan Gomes by trading him on the July 31, 2007.
There, he has averaged 12.6 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game. It was July 8, 2010; when Ryan Gomes has signed the contract of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) to play for them. He is still playing for them with absolute dedication and responsibility.
