Nicolas Batum was one of those nine French players who spent great time on NBA schedule during the year 2008-2009 seasons. He was one of the 11 French players who played in the NBA all-time including Charlotte’s Boris Diaw, San Antonio’s Tony Parker, Orlando’s Michael Pietrus and Golden State’s Ronny Turiaf.
Nicolas stands second in the NBA history who wore No.88 joining Antoine Walker. He Scored 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting at the 2007 Nike Hoop Summit (which also includes six dunks) while playing for the World Team. He also holds the honor of playing along the world team in 2008 NBA summer league with team mate petteri koponen.
Nicolas played so professionally fro the honor of his team right from the start of his career as he paved the way for France to the European U-16 championship held in Greece in 2004. it was because of this teenager the French earned most valuable player honors in U-18 championship being held in 2005. He did not stop and finally make French win the gold medal in 2006 European U-18 championship in held in Amaliada at an average of 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds.
He also lead France winning the bronze medal in U-19 world championship held in Novi sad Serbia in 2007, his average was 11.7 points with 4.3 assists and 5.7 rebounds. Later he became member of French national team where he played a key role and lead his team to achieve marvelous goals inside as well as outside of arena.
He always used to play a vital role while playing fro his national team at national as well as international levels. His performances make him earn great achievements and fame inside France as well as all over the world.
Nicolas Batum started his pro career in France as it was his native land to make him grow as a professional later on. He grew up playing with MSB Le Mans in France where his average and point scoring increased day after day and his game got better and better after every match… Nicolas Batum made his French pro debut in year 2005-06 and carried on from there to touch the heights of excellence.
He started playing with junior team where his starting average was 5.2 points with 3.1 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per match. In the year 2006-07 his average remained at 5.0 points with 16.2 rebounds. Nicolas scored six times in double figures during that season and also performed well in euro league during that season.
He kept playing in fantastic fashion and finally rises up to join senior squads. He played total of 79 games as a NBA rookie at nice average and rebound rate. He was acquired by Houston rockets and Portland in his career transactions.
