Luis Scola Bio

Luis Alberto Scola Balvoa,an Argentine professional basketball player, was born on April 30, 1980 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Scola formally playing for the Argentine national team is currently signed with the NBA's Houston Rockets. He was a Euroleague star with the ACB's Saski Baskonia. He is a dual citizen, having both Argentine and Spanish citizenship. Luis Scola plays at forward-center position and wars No.4 shirt, his Listed height is 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m) and his listed weight is 245 lb (111 kg).

With the Buenos Aires youth teams of Ferro Carril Oeste Scola started his career. during the 1995-96 season, he made his professional debut with the same club's pro team in the Argentine league. Scola moved to Spain after the 1997-98 basketball season in the Argentine League.

He helped the then Spanish League Second Division club Cabitel Gijón achieve promotion to the Spanish League First Division. He was signed with Saski Baskonia, but was loaned back to Gijón through the 1999-2000 season.

In 2005 Scola's outstanding performances earned him an All-Euroleague Second Team selection. Scola win Baskonia, won a Spanish ACB League championship in 2002 and 2003. In 2002, 2004 and 2006 he won Spanish Cups, and also won 3×Spanish Supercups in 2005, 2006 and 2007 respectively.

San Antonio Spurs of the NBA drafted Scola in 2002, and in the summer of 2005, he signed a $3 million contract. In the NBA 2007-08 Scola was aearded third Rookie of the Year Award, and was also named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

On March, 2010, he scored a career high 44 points against the New Jersey Nets.

at the 1995 South American Cadet Championship, Scola won the gold medal with Argentina's junior national teams. He also won gold medal at the 1996 South American Junior Championship, at the 2000 FIBA Americas Under-20 Championship, he won another gold medal and at the 2001 FIBA Under-21 World Championship he won bronze medal.
