Lou Amundson Biography

Lou Amundson was born in the family of Dave Amundson and Eloise berg, his full name is Louis Gabriel Amundson.

His last name is pronounced as ah-mundsun and is called by nickname “Lou”. His family always supported him for growing as a professional basket ball player. Both his father Dave Amundson and mother Eloise berg groomed him to become a professional right from his childhood.

It was ofcourse the passion he got from his childhood that took him to international arena. Lou has one sister as well, named Alena. He was always used to put best performances on the floor by applying better techniques and best moves.

It was his performances that make him earn name of being All-Mountain West Conference Academic team in all of his four years with UNLV. Lou graduated by having bachelor’s degree in English and philosophy. Lou is having great passion for basketball as well as studies as his thrust for studies never declined down. He is still a student of finance and getting it as a second degree to enhance his knowledge.

He is also a social person with love for his society as he played for wheelchair charities celebrity basketball game alongside Kevin martin, Ronnie price and Ron Artest. Lou also holds interest in drawing and paint work and used to watch college games of soccer.

Lou played high class basketball both at college as well as school levels. He started Playing with UNLV where he played four seasons at an average of 7.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.00 blocks in all 120 career games with 68 starts. Lou was outshined in his collegiate history by standing 7th in blocks and 11th in rebounds.

His Shot was always better than .500 from field in all of his four seasons where he posted 15 career double-doubles as well. Lou was the first player in Mountain West Conference history ever who recorded multiple games with twenty plus points and twenty plus rebounds. Lou appeared as freshman in 2001-02 where he played at an average of 2.8 points in all thirty games he played.

He appeared as sophomore in 2004-05 where he average rise to 4.5 points, he played 31 games in total. Lou appeared as junior in 30 games where his average jumped up to 7.8 points. Later he appeared in 29 games as a senior in 2005-06 where his average touched 14.3 points with 8.6 rebounds. It was no doubt his performances that make him earn second team all-mountain west conference and all districts accolades as a senior as well.

Lou played one game with Utah Jazz and Appeared in 10 games with Philadelphia 76ers in 2006-07 where his average remained at 1.6 points with 2.8 rebounds. He also played games for Colorado 14ers at a nice average of 11.1 points with 7.6 rebounds.

He was named as 2006-07 D-League Rookie of the Year and was also ranked 8th in filed goals, 9th in rebounds and above all 5th in blocks. He played for Philadelphia in year 2007-08 and also played in NBA summer league alongside golden state warriors. Lou played 76 games in 2008-09 with phoenix at an average of 4.2 points. He kept playing fro the phoenix in the 2009-10 as well where he played a total of 79 games during that season.
