Lou Amundson Bio

Louis Gabriel Amundson, an American professional basketball player who was born on December 7, 1982 in Ventura, California. Currently Amundson is playing with the Golden State Warriors.

He has played in the NBA D-League and in 2006, was named D-League Rookie of the Year. On August, 2008, Amundson signed a two-year contract with the Phoenix Suns.

Amundson grew up in Boulder, Colorado. For four seasons i.e. from 2001/02 and then 2003/04-2005/06 he played college basketball at UNLV. Amundson sat out the whole 2002/03 season with a medical redshirt due to a thumb infection.

With shirt No. 19 Amundson plays at Power forward/Center position. His Listed height is 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m)and weight 225 lb (102 kg) respectively. On Sep. 2010, Fifth-year forward Louis Amundson had agreed to terms with Golden State on a two-year deal worth a little less than $5 million.

During 2006–07 season, he was named All-NBA D-League First Team and also picked up Rookie of the Year honors. On April, 2007, at Detroit, Amundson recorded career-highs of 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks in 23 minutes of play.

In 2006–07, he led all NBA rookies in blocks per 48 minutes played and also ranked sixth among all players league-wide. In May 2005 graduated cum laude from UNLV with a bachelor's degree in university studies with areas of study in English and philosophy. With 20+ points and 20+ rebounds, Amundson was the first player in Mountain West Conference history to record multiple career games and also earned Second Team All-Mountain West Conference honors as a senior.
