Jeff Green Bio

Jeffrey Lynn Green, born on August 28, 1986 in Cheverly, Maryland, is an American professional basketball player.

He is currently playing with the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association. Green attended Georgetown University during his junior year. In 2007 NBA Draft he was selected fifth overall by the Boston Celtics. He was subsequently traded to the Seattle SuperSonics.

Green wears No. 8 jersey and plays at forward position. He is 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m) tall and his listed weight is 235 lb (107 kg). In Hyattsville, Maryland, Green attended Northwestern High School, and in 2004, he led the NHS Wildcats to the state basketball championship.

Green was recruited to Georgetown University in 2003. Green hit game-winning shots, during the 2006-2007 season, in the final seconds of multiple games, including a game-winning shot against Vanderbilt in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.Jeff Green won the Big East Rookie of the Year award, in 2005. In addition, Green was named to the All-Big East Second Team in 2006. In 2007, Green and teammate were unanimous selections to the All-Big East First Team.

Green was also named Most Outstanding Player of the 2007 Big East Tournament.

Green was taken 5th overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, on June, 2007. along with teammate Green was named to the 2008 NBA All-Rookie team. He also played in the 2009 Rookie-Sophomore Challenge and scored 13 points and snagged 2 steals in the sophomores' win.
