James E. (JIM) Baechtold Bio

James is one of the classy former basket ball players who have made a mark in the history of basketball.

James born on Dec 9 1927 and grow up as a professional in the court of basketball. This child was having passion to grow as a professional and he did it by making an awesome career through his performance.

He played lots of best games at school as well as college career. He started playing at professional level but before putting performances at professional level he did a lot at school and college life. James played at his best at school level where he was used to make awesome moves on the court and was used to give tough time to his rivals.

The trend continued during his college career at eastern Kentucky. He was used to perform with excellence and class at his college level as well. It was his practice at college which makes him get on top and start his professional career.

James played total of 321 career games starting from 1952 and ending at 1957. James played excellently for his entire career at a splendid career average of 9.7 points per game with 3.1 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game.

He was selected by NBA during his first season with Baltimore in 1952. James played from 1952 to 1953 for Baltimore bullets and joined New York knicks where he played from 1953 towards the end of his career in 1957.

The end of his career does not means that this man gone away from basket ball as his attachment with the game was an unprecedented one. James served as head coach for Kentucky University from 1962 to 1966 where he makes teams performing in best way. He has the honor of making team going through runner up rounds. He was awarded as OVC coach of the year later in year in 1965.
