Francisco Garcia is the only basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA) who is Dominican Republic born athlete.

Francisco Garcia is a professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA). From the day of his selection to the present times, he has always played for the Sacramento Kings. He plays as a Guard-Forward in the basketball.Francisco Garcia was born on December 31, 1981 in Santo Domingo at Dominion Republic.

He stands six feet and seven inches tall and his listed weight is 195 pounds. He has one daughter who is two-year old child and her name is Abigail Marie. His favorite food is chicken and pasta. He enjoys watching movies and lists ‘Scarface’ and ‘Friday’ as the best movies to watch. He also loves to do shopping and enjoy the shooting pool.

Garcia has attended Winchendon School in Massachusetts. He used to play basketball and baseball in his school times. He was announced as the Top High School Players from the ESPN, CNN/SI and The Sporting News. Later he has continued playing basketball with passion and eventually has adopted it as his profession in life.

In his senior year; Garcia has averaged 18.3 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game and 5.2 assists per game.After the accomplishment of his high school studies, Garcia was enrolled in the University of Louisville. Francisco Garcia has majored in the Communication Studies from the University of Louisville.

During his stay in the University, Garcia was succeeded in averaging overall 14.4 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game and 1.48 steals per game. He was ranked fourth as per hitting three-pointers in his college career. He succeeded in winning the title of the First Team All-Conference USA.

Garcia was also declared as the C-USA Freshman of the Year in his college times. While playing against the Cincinnati, Garcia has made three-pointers with the 24 points. He has also won the credit of the C-USA All Tournament.

He has also established his career in the international platform regarding basketball and has played almost six games of basketball. He has played in the Dominican Republic National Team. In the year 2003, Francisco Garcia has played in the Pan America Games in Santa Domingo and won a silver medal for his National Team.

Then, in 2005; Francisco Garcia has received the opportunity to pursue his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the 2005 NBA Draft. Sacramento Kings have selected him on the 23rd overall pick and in the first round. While playing with them, Garcia has initially made 9.0 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game and 1.6 assists per game.

He suffered from the strain in his right calf and he has missed performing in the 17 games of the basketball. In the year 2008, Garcia has won a bronze medal for his team in playing at Centrobasket at Cancun. He has always performed wisely in his games.

Garcia is also quite active in the community work. Garcia has been awarded with the Oscar Robertson Triple-Double Award in the year 2009. His work in the volunteering is worth appraisal as he has invested most of his energy, money and time for the less fortunate people in his life.
