Famous USA basketball Women’s Rosters

Basketball is well embraced by the USA citizen, it is the most popular sport in the world so obviously USA is in to it.

Basketball epidemic is very evident in every country. Aside from men basketball is played by women in USA as well as a proof there is a so called USA Women Basketball team. Let us now discuss some of the famous USA Women’s Rosters.

Anne Donovan

Anne is considered one of the most famous USA basketball Women’s Rosters because of her skills on basketball. Who is Anne Donovan? Anne born on November 1, 1961 in Ridgewood, New Jersey is once a USA basketball player and the current head coach at Seton Hall University of the women’s basketball team.

She is known for she was the only person to have played both to a national women’s college title and coached a team to a professional title. She had lots of achievements that made her be a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Here are some of her achievements:

-Inducted into the ODU Sports Hall of Fame in 1988

-NCAA 25 Year Award on January 13, 2008

-All-Time Women’s basketball Player by Sun Belt Conference (October 24, 2004)

-Two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American at ODU

-Awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters during the 109th commencement ceremony (December 13, 2008) from ODU in

recognition of her recent and past contributions to basketball.-Named to the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame.

Candace Parker

Candice Nicole Parker was born on April 19, 1986 she was also a player for WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks. She is the younger sister of Anthony Parker a NBA player too.

She is considered famous USA basketball Women’s Roster because she was known for being the first woman to dunk in a NCAA tournament game and the first woman to dunk twice in a college game. She is the second player to dunk in a WNA game.

Due to her versatility she is a forward but is a center and guard as well. As a proof that she is famous she was able to capture the hearts of children, she won the 2009 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice award as the favorite female athlete.

Pamela McGee

Pamela McGee is considered one of the most famous USA basketball women’s roster. She is a former WNBA player and an assistant coach. She was the second overall pick in the 1997 WNBA Draft. She was able to play in the WNBA league for two memorable seasons together with the Sacramento Monarchs and Los Angeles Sparks.

She was famous because of winning a back to back NCAA Championships as an All- American at her school at the University of Southern California. Another achievement that marked people the most about her was when she won Olympic gold in Los Angeles before embarking on a professional career. What is well known about her as of now is that her son is playing in NBA too. JaVale McGee plays for the Washington Wizards.
