The Lakers’ Season
The No. 2 Lakers will face the No. 15 Bentley in the Elite Eight. A victory over Peach Belt Conference rival, Lander, in the Sweet Sixteen gave them advancement to the Elite Eight. They have only suffered one loss to USC Aiken in the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
This loss ended the longest winning streak in program history. In this game, the Lakers only shot 33% from the field and 31% from 3-point range. They were able to force USC Aiken into 19 turnovers and only trailed 30-24 at halftime and eventually made their way back as the game went into overtime. Head Coach Dennis Cox leads the Lakers but looks to Tanisha Woodard and Teshymia Tillman to take control.
