Christian Eyenga Bio

Christian Eyenga Moenge, born on June 22, 1989 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo is a Congolese professional basketball player.

Currently he is playing with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA. Eyenga was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA, in June 2009, with the 30th pick in that year’s NBA Draft. When drafted, he played for the Spanish Second Division club. Eyenga wears No.8 jersey and plays at Shooting Guard as well as Small Forward position. His listed height and weight is 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m) and 210 lb (95 kg) respectively.

Eyenga played for the Cleveland Cavaliers the 2010 NBA Summer League. He signed for $2 million over two years. On November 2010, Eyenga was sent to the Cavaliers’ NBA D- League affiliate, Erie BayHawks. On January 2011, he was recalled by the Cavs and made his debut in the same day, against the Dallas Mavericks, he scored 4 points and grabbed 3 rebounds.

His Career history highlights are he played for Onatra Kinshasa (2006–2007), Prat (2007–2009), DKV Joventut (2008), Cleveland Cavaliers (2010-present) and also for Erie BayHawks (2010). 2010-11 Statistics for him are PPG 7.5, RPG 3.10, APG 0.9 and EFF + 7.35.

During 2009-10 season Eyenga played 29 games for DKV Joventut Badalona and averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds. In 11 EuroCup games with DKV, he averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds. During the 2008-09 season, played in 25 games with CB Juventud (Spain), and averaged 13.3 points on .488 shooting, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 30.3 minutes, he also scored in double figures in 18 games, topped 20-point mark on two occasions.

Eyenga appeared in 4 Euro league games with DKV Joventut Badalona, and scored three points in 16 minutes. He also appeared in two Spanish League games, averaging 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals. During the 2007-08 season, played in 19 games with DKV Joventut Badalona U20 team in Spain, and averaged 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds.

Eyenga also played in the African Championships and, in 2007 he was a member of the Democratic Republic of Congo National Team. During the 2006, he participated in the U18 national team camp for the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In 2006 Eyenga Participated in NBA’s Basketball without Borders (Africa) program.
