Chris Anstey Bio

Christopher John (Chris) Anstey was very famous basketball player of Australia.

He was born on January 1, 1975 in a mega city of Australia called as Melbourne. He was a professional basketball player of centre position. He was a tall man of about seven feet height and weight of 115 kilo grams.

During his professional career he has played for many basketball clubs and leagues. Chris has also played for NBA. During his school days Chris was a multi talented player of many sports. He was a good player of tennis during his school career.

He was ranked 2nd amongst 15 year old tennis players in Australia at national level. Before joining NBA Chris played for many private clubs in Australia, Chris started his basketball career in 1994 with a club named as Melbourne tigers.

Chris preferred basketball over tennis because he was perfectly fit and suitable for basketball due to his strong body and good height. Before joining NBA Chris played for South East Melbourne Magic club from 1995 to 1997, he won most improved player award in 1996.

Chris joined NBA as a professional player in 1997. Chris was selected by Portland Trail Blazers in 1997 NBA draft. His start in NBA was not very good. His rookie year was 1997-98, during his rookie year he averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds. Chris was traded in Chicago Bulls for 2000 NBA draft in September 1999.

His career in NBA was not very good during his all professional career; he was an average player in NBA. He played 155 games throughout his all career in NBA and earned points with an average of 5.2. Chris returned in Europe in NBL with Victoria Titans in 2001-02 where he won best sixth Man award in 2003. Chris played his last game in 2010.
