Chauncey Billups

An American Professional Basketball point guard is Chauncey Ray Billups who was born on September 25, 1976 at Denver Colorado.

Currently, he is playing for the Denver Nuggets. He is known by his nick name as “Mr. Big Shot”. He is named as “Mr. Big Shots” when he has performed by making shots with Detroit.

Chauncey Billups is married to Piper and they are blessed with three dolls; Cydney, Ciara and Cenaiya. Billups younger brother is also into basketball playing being a point guard for the University of Denver. Recently, NBA D-League has drafted Rodney (Billups younger brother).

The George Washington High School at Denver was his choice to gain high school education and he has also established himself as an efficient sportsman in the basketball.

There, he was selected as the “Colorado Mr. Basketball” thrice and also “Colorado Player of the Year”. In fact, McDonald’s All-American Team has also selected him in 1995 but Chauncey Billups was unable to play because of his shoulder injury. This injury has not only adversely affected his career in those days but also has left negative impacts on his health, during the rest of his career days even in NBA.

The University of Colorado was Billup’s choice for the completion of graduation and he has taken more interest in playing sports rather than focusing on studies too. There, he was declared as the All American First Team. In his two seasons, Billups has averaged 18.5 points per game.

Billups have been awarded with the gold medal twice in his career. For the first time, he was awarded with the gold medal in FIBA Americas Championship in 2007 at Las Vegas. Then, in FIBA World Championship, he received the second gold medal of his life in 2010 at Turkey.

Chauncey Billups is also out of those players of National Basketball Association (NBA) who has switched six of the teams including Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons.In 2004, he was honored with the NBA Champion and in the same year, Chauncey Billups was awarded with the NBA Finals MVP.

In the season 2005-2006, Billups was selected as the All-Defensive Second Team and it happened twice for him during these years. He received the honor of All-NBA Third Team, in the year 2007 and year 2009. He was also declared as the NBA Sportsmanship Award in the year 2009 when he was playing for Denver Nuggets. In 2008, Chauncey Billups was rewarded with the J.Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award.

Chauncey Billups has spent his early years with Boston Celtics and then was traded to Toronto Raptors in exchange for Kenny Anderson. Then, in 2002, Billups has signed the contract Detroit Pistons and there he has won NBA Final MVP Award.

He has played a key role in establishing the Piston’s position and status in the scope of NBA (National Basketball Association) teams.

Finally, Chauncey Billups was returned to Denver Nuggets, where he has made the history by scoring 30-50 points. He has also established a record of maintaining 39 points in the history being a point guard.
