Brian Cook Bio

Brian Cook is an American native and a professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He is a player born in a family of the basketball players and he inherited the germs of basketball playing from his blood. Even Cook’s father; Norman Cook has also professionally played for the NBA. His father has represented Boston Celtics in his times.

Brian Cook always plays as a power forward in the basketball. Brian Cook was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and currently he represents the Los Angeles Clippers.

Brian Joshua Cook is his full name. He was born on December 4, 1980 in Lincoln at Illinois. His parents name is Joyce and Norman Cook.

He got married to Victoria Velasquez on July 4, 2009. She was Cook’s girlfriend from so long and finally they knotted together in the relationship of marriage. Cook has two sisters; Kristina and Natasha.

Cook has played basketball from his childhood times, and then he continued winning laurels in the High School and the University. Cook is a lively person in the normal life and enjoys playing video games and fishing in his leisure time.

Cook has studied from the Lincoln Community High School. His style of playing has given an opportunity of participating in the Class AA State Ball Basketball playing. It was a moment to celebrate for the Cook when he was selected in the State Farm Holiday Classic all tournament team in the year 1998.

Then Brian Cook was enrolled in the University of Illinois. Fortunately, Cook was thrice selected as the Mr. Basketball in playing with the University of Illinois. He has played most of the matches under the coaching of Bill Self. He has played 132 games in total while studying at the University of Illinois. In his senior year, he succeeded in maintaining 20.0 points per game. He was rewarded with the titles of the Most Valuable Player in the Big Ten Conference.

While playing in his collegiate season, he was also named as the Second Team All-American by The Sporting News, Big Ten Player of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten by the audience of media and by the association of the coaches as well.

Then, it came the time in the Cook’s life to professionally pursue his career in the field of basketball. He was selected by the National Basketball Association (NBA). Brian Cook has been selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round with the 24th overall pick. He has been selected by the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the 2003 NBA Draft. Cook has represented various teams of the NBA in his career.

Cook has played with the Los Angeles Lakers from the year 2003 to 2007. Then, he grabbed Orlando Magic (November 20, 2007) for two years and represented them from the year 2007 to 2009. He has been traded by the Houston Rockets (February 19, 2009) in the year 2009 and played for them till 2010. It was 2010 when Cook has joined Los Angeles Clippers (July 9, 2010) and is still playing for them to the present date.

Brian Cook has also participated in the playoffs and had averaged 4.4 points with 2.9 rebounds by utilizing 12.6 minutes while playing from his latest performances. He is a gold medalist and has won the medal in the year 2001 at Saitama in FIBA U21 World Championship.
