Basketball Tryout Tips 2

by Cherry
(Rowland Heights)

1. DON'T SUCK!
Of course the number one tip to make the team is to be good at what you do! If making the team is really that important then you can't let anything distract you. But you also have to make sure that you don't get too obsessed with making the team. It's NOT the end of the world if you don't make it. There are always other alternatives!

2. Eat Right
You HAVE to make sure that you eat correctly before you tryout. DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST! As they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Try eating a bowl of cereal or whole wheat toast with jam, a glass of orange juice, and a banana or other choice of fruit you like. You can also bring a granola bar with you for after your tryout. You have to eat healthy in order to be the best. No heavy food BUT no super unfilling light food either. Just find a balance.

3. Don't be arrogant.
If your arrogant while your playing, the coach will take you as a joke! Nobody likes a player who thinks he/she is all that. You as a player need to care about the other players on your team while also being the best you can be.
